It gives me great pleasure to write an article for my old mate Vikram. He seems so young to be having a benefit year.

I have been very lucky over the years to watch Vikram grow as a player and more importantly as a person. You often feel like you know people well and then something happens which makes you have another look.

By the time this brochure is published an Ashes Series will have determined the No.1 Test team in the world, whilst in the West Indies in April the ODI champions will be celebrating in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Its no secret that former Worcester player and coach Tom Moody was instrumental in introducing me to Worcestershire County Cricket Club and of course I am very grateful to him for that.

Congratulations Vik on being awarded your benefit year for2007 some well deserved recognition for a successful career to date.
