Benefit Year 2007

We are pleased to announce that Worcestershire County Cricket Club have awarded their captain and England batsman Vikram Solanki a benefit in 2007.

"No-one at the Club deserves a Benefit Year more than Vikram. He is Worcestershire through and through; he is proving to be a very good Captain and is enjoying a terrific season. The Board were delighted to confirm this decision following requests from several members to award him a benefit year." (Worcestershire chief executive, Mark Newton)

Vikram, who has played 51 one-day Internationals for England, made his one day debut for the county in 1993 and his first class debut in 1995.
